Nora Mapes-Pigsley (she/her) is a 22-year-old Seattle-based jazz vocalist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music, with a minor in Cinema Studies from Willamette University, where she graduated from in May 2026. Nora joined school choir at an early age and continued throughout elementary, middle, and high school. Her love of vocal jazz started in high school as a member of the vocal jazz ensemble at Ingraham High School. She began piano lessons at the age of eight and began voice lessons starting in her first year of college.
Throughout her time at Willamette, Nora participated in the Willamette Chamber Choir where she served as alto section leader, as well as student leader of the vocal jazz ensemble, the Willamette Singers. She has spent three years arranging music for and participating in Willamette’s jazz combos, and has been invited to perform as a guest singer with the Willamette Jazz Collective. Nora received a special mention award from the annual Seattle-Kobe Female Vocal Jazz Competition in 2025.
